Orange Community Education & Recreation employs full-time, part-time and seasonal employees. These include programming staff, early childhood teachers, support and operations staff, supervisory staff and before and after school childcare staff, and custodians. 
Lifeguards and swim instructor positions are available year-round while summer camp staff positions are available during the summer.

Please note: A criminal BCI & FBI background check including fingerprints is required prior to employment and for certain volunteer opportunities. Background checks are paid for by the potential employee and  are scheduled after applicants are interviewed.
Youth Sports Assitant
The Orange Community Education & Recreation Department announces a full-time position opening for a Youth Sports Assistant. A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated work in recreation programming, sports programming, or youth programming is required. Seeking Career in recreation management, preferred. College graduates with a bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports management, leisure services, community education or similar field is preferred. Ability to work as part of dedicated and enthusiastic team of community education and recreation professionals in a school/ camp setting. Current CPR certificate and concussion in sport certificate, will be required. Early Childhood Summer Camp / Enrichment Camp Instructor
Orange Early Childhood is a unique, dynamic and comprehensive Early Childhood program, managed by Orange Community Education & Recreation and located on the campus of the Orange School District. We are currently seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and inspired instructors to co-teach in our summer camp classrooms. The ideal candidate will possess or be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) and have experience working with young children in a preschool setting.  Instructors are needed for various positions throughout the summer, June 11 - August 3. Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors
Orange Community Education & Recreation is currently seeking certified lifeguards and water safety instructors to fill flexible, part-time hours throughout the year. American Red Cross Certification is required for lifeguards and guards must be certified prior to submitting an application. The Orange Community Education & Recreation Department has an immediate opening for a part-time custodian to perform light maintenance and custodial services for the Orange Art Center and Orange Senior Center, Monday - Friday, 7 - 11 pm.
