Registration for Lions Club Extended Care is now open.
Orange Community Education & Recreation presents a new child care program designed to provide children with a safe, supervised and activity-based program while Orange City School District implements full remote learning this fall.
Similar to our traditional Open Door Extended Care, the new Lions Club extended care program has got you covered.
This 5-day a week program is offered Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 5 pm for Orange School District students in grades K – 5 at Pepper Pike Learning Center.
Whether you are assigned to attend school in the AM or PM cohort, school work will be a priority and students will have access to their Google Classroom and any district-provided specialized instruction as needed throughout the day. When school work is complete, we’ll have all sorts of time to get creative, use your brain power, and have some ACTIVE fun with your friends.
Lions Club will not be available when school is closed for holidays, teacher in-service days, weather, or Covid-19 related closures and due to Covid-19 regulations and guidelines, drop-in and flexible scheduling will not be available this school year.
As outlined by the CDC, students will remain physically distanced, and will have many opportunities for hand washing. Students must wear a mask or face covering unless participating in an activity such as running outside.
Drop Off & Pick Up
Students must arrive at Pepper Pike Learning Center at 7:30 am. Drop off throughout the morning will not be permitted due to strict building entrance requirements. Parents will remain in their car during drop off and our staff will greet you outside. Each student will have a temperature check before entering the building. Students will be assigned to small groups based on CDC guidelines and by grade level and will remain with their group throughout the day. Children should bring their own brown bag lunch and snacks. When they register, parents may select a 4 pm or 5 pm daily pick up time.
A $50 registration fee per child is required to secure a spot in this program. Registration is available on a first come, first serve basis. Lions Club Extended Care is $200 per week. Fees will be automatically charged to a credit card on file each Friday. Fees will not be assessed if the program is not in session.
