Lions Club Extended Care

Registration for Lions Club Extended Care has been postponed. Please check back on August 12.
For the 2020-2021 school year, Orange Community Education & Recreation presents a new child care program designed to provide children in grades K – 5 with a safe, supervised and activity-based program while school day modifications in place.

Similar to Open Door Extended Care, Lions Club will offer time for students to get creative, use their brain power and have some active fun with friends on campus when school is not in session.

This 5-day a week program is offered Monday – Friday, starting August 31, with an option for both AM school students and PM school students.

Lions Club will not be available when school is closed for holidays, teacher in-service days, weather, or Covid-19 related closures. Due to Covid-19 regulations and guidelines, drop-in and flexible scheduling will not be available this school year.

While at Lions Club, students will remain physically distanced, will wash hands often and must wear a mask or face shield unless participating in an activity such as running outside.

Lions Club AM (for afternoon cohort students)
Students must arrive at 8 am at Pepper Pike Learning Center. Drop off throughout the morning will not be permitted due to strict building entrance requirements. Parents will remain in their car during drop off and our staff will greet you outside. Each student and driver will have a temperature check before entering the building. Small groups of 9 students will have a full morning of activities, along with time for lunch before walking with staff to school.

Lions Club PM (for morning cohort students)
Staff will pick up students at 10:30 am when school ends for the day, conduct a temperature check and walk with students to our program. From there, we will have a full afternoon of lunch (bring your own), activities, games, and fun with friends. Pick up will be at 4:30 pm.

This program is only open to Orange Schools students participating in the Blended Learning Half-Day model.

Weekly Fees
A $50 registration fee per child is required to secure a spot in this program. Registration is available on a first come, first serve basis. Lions Club Extended Care is $120 per week for either the AM and PM option. Fees will be automatically charged to a credit card on file each Friday. If school must close and full remote learning is required, no fees will be assessed.

Our office is staffed Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm during the month of August. Call Debbie Zimmerman, Extended Care Supervisor, at (216) 831-8601 with questions or email her at
