Orange Community Education and Recreation's comprehensive 2013 Summer Camp program provides a safe and supportive environment for kids to explore new interests, get creative, make friends and learn - all on the Orange Schools campus. Camps for students in preschool, elementary school, middle school and high school begin in June 2013.
The Orange campus features a kid-friendly outdoor leisure pool with a slide and waterfalls, groomed sports fields, playgrounds, tennis courts and hiking trails set in wooded surroundings. Indoor facilities include an indoor pool with a separate diving area, gymnasiums, a wrestling room for Karate camps, and ample indoor classrooms.
Registration for 2013 begins on Saturday, March 9 from 9am-12pm at the Pepper Pike Learning Center. A Summer Camp Payment Plan is available for our most popular camps - scroll down for further details - but you must register by March 11 to be eligible.
With dozens of amazing camps designed to appeal to a wide array of talents and interests, campers are sure to have a fun-filled summer with Orange Community Education & Recreation's comprehensive summer camp program. Residents may begin registering for all camps beginning Saturday, March 9 from 9am –12pm at our Spring/Summer Registration Fair in the Pepper Pike Learning Center. Non-residents may begin registering at 11:00am that day but will not be processed until the following Monday at the end of the workday. Directors from camps will be on hand to answer questions and help you register.
Registration will continue through Friday, May 10 (CampRegistration Deadline) at Orange Community Education and Recreation offices in Pepper Pike Learning Center Mondays-Thursdays from 9am–8pm, Fridays from 9am-5pm and Saturdays from 9am–1pm.
WAITING LIST NOTE: As camps fill please be sure to put your name on the waiting list. If space becomes available you will be called if we are able to accommodate your child. Residents will be given priority over non-residents once on the waiting list.
NOTE: Please register your child for the grade they are currently in for this school year ending June 2013.
Since camp groups and the decision to employ and train staff are based on enrollment, camp fees are non-refundable. In the event of a sudden illness or injury, please speak with your Camp Director. We will attempt to modify and make accommodations to meet the needs of your child. A medical refund may be considered, minus a $25 processing fee, only upon receipt of a written report from your primary care physician. No exceptions, please.
PAYMENT PLAN AVAILABLE
A Summer Camp Payment Plan is available for resident and non-resident campers enrolling in any camp priced $99 or more. Early Childhood Extended Care Camp and Open Door fees are not eligible. Payment plans are not available for any other camps or combination of camps.In order to take advantage of the Camp Payment Plan, you must register for camp and the payment plan at the Spring/Summer Activity & Camp Registration Fair on Saturday, March 9 from 9am-12pm or on Monday, March 11 from 9am-8pm at the Pepper Pike Learning Center. If you’re planning on having an out of town visitor - grandchild, niece, nephew or friend - for a one or two day visit this summer, you may register your guest only for the Orange Lions Camp or Stagecrafters Theatre Camp for $32/day plus any field trip fees. Arrangements must be made with the camp director in advance.
TRANSPORTATION & LATE PICK UP CHARGE
Parents provide transportation to and from all camps. Parents are asked to comply with a formal traffic pattern, which is strictly enforced for drop-off and pick-up at camps. In the event of a personal emergency, campers who are not picked up within 10 minutes after camp dismissal will be supervised by camp staff and will be charged $1 for every minute which is payable upon pick-up of child.
EXTENDED CAMP PROGRAM
Orange Early Childhood Camp offers an extended camp program for children ages 2-5 attending Orange Early Childhood Camp from 7:00am until 9:15am (the start of camp) and from 1:15pm (the end of camp) until 6:00pm. See Orange Early Childhood Camp for details.
The Open Door before and after camp program is available for children entering kindergarten up to students completing fifth grade in June 2013attending Orange Lions Camp, Stagecrafters, Jump Start Sports Camp and most Sports & Enrichment Camps and full days for the week of June 10-14 and July 29-August 2.
