Volunteer Opportunities

Orange Community Education & Recreation has a variety of volunteer opportunities available for young adults and adults of all ages.

Whether volunteering to assist with summer camp, senior center activities or special events like Trunk or Treat,  you'll have the opportunity to share your talents and gain valuable experience, learn new skills and develop lasting friendships.

Lions Leadership Volunteer Experience
The Lions Leadership Volunteer Experience is a volunteer program that gives teens the opportunity to develop and utilize new leadership skills while having fun and mentoring young children in a camp setting. This program has a limited number of openings and is designed for teens who will be completing grade 8 and who have turned 14 by June 1, 2021. The experience is designed to promote learning and practicing responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills while working with campers and staff in Orange Community Education & Recreation’s diverse camp offerings.

Under the guidance of OCE&R’s staff, teens in the Lions Leadership Volunteer Experience program will be interacting with children in grades pre-kindergarten through grade 5. This includes designing, leading and participating in various activities, monitoring snack time and escorting children to other areas on Orange’s campus. Our weekly focus will be on specific skill development topics and incorporating Orange City School District’s PRIDE Powers.

To be considered for a volunteer position, please complete this application and supplemental information and return by email  to Katie Newman here by April 16, 2021. Please note that filling out an application and interviewing for the position does not guarantee a volunteer position.  Please use the checklist below to ensure your application is complete.
