Employment & Volunteer Opportunities


Orange Community Education & Recreation employs full-time, part-time and seasonal employees. These include programming staff, early childhood teachers, support and operations staff, supervisory staff and before and after school childcare staff, and custodians. 
 
Lifeguards and swim instructor positions are available year-round while summer camp staff positions are available during the summer.

Please note: A criminal BCI & FBI background check including fingerprints is required prior to employment and for certain volunteer opportunities. Background checks are paid for by the potential employee and  are scheduled after applicants are interviewed.

Part-Time

Office Assistant - Orange Art Center
Orange Art Center, a division of Orange Community Education and Recreation, seeks an enthusiastic, organized, creative and forward-thinking individual experienced in day-to-day office management, customer-service, communications, and marketing to serve as a part-time Office Assistant, working an average of 25 – 29 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
Orange Art Center develops, promotes and hosts art classes, exhibits and art-centered events for people of all ages and abilities living in the Orange City School district and beyond. The Art Center Office Assistant is a key staff member and collaborates with students, art instructors, art center staff, OCER staff, school district staff and area residents to create a vibrant location for art instruction and experiences.
A bachelor’s degree is suggested. 2+ years of experience in office management, marketing, customer service, or arts education is required.

Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors
Orange Community Education & Recreation is currently seeking certified lifeguards and water safety instructors to fill flexible, part-time hours throughout the year. American Red Cross Certification is required for lifeguards and guards. If you are interested, but not yet certified, please contact Aquatics Supervisor Ben Morris at [email protected] and ask about our next class and opportunities to earn the class fee back!
