Our site’s online registration, powered by Eleyo, a recreation registration software company, requires users to provide basic account information such as name, address, phone, email address, and date of birth, along with method of payment to create an account and register for programs, activities and events with Orange Community Education and Recreation.This information will never be sold to or shared with 3rd party agencies. This information may be used by our department, and in a limited capacity by our instructors, to inform users about upcoming programs, activities and events, and to communicate about the activities in which registered users are scheduled to participate. This information also allows us to inform users of course cancellations and building closings.
DISCLAIMER OF ENDORSEMENTThe information posted on the www.orangerec.com website may include hypertext links to information created and maintained by other school, community, or government organizations. www.orangerec.com provides these links solely for our user’s information and convenience. When users select a link to an outside website, they are leaving the www.orangerec.com site and are subject to the privacy and security policies of the owners of the outside website.

TERMS OF USEBy registering for a Orange Community Education and Recreation program, users agree and consent to the following participation guidelines. Adults registering minor children agree to these terms on their behalf:
By enrolling in a program, activity or event with Orange Community Education and Recreation, registrants consent to exchange the information needed for participation in that program. Adults registering minor children consent to participation and the exchange of information needed to participate, on their behalf. Registrants grant permission for participants to be included in photos taken during the program or activity which may be used by Orange Community Education and Recreation for promotional purposes. Registrants agree that participants are in good general health and can participate in activities as outlined in the program description. Registrants agree to release Orange Community Education and Recreation, its agents, employees and volunteers from any and all claim or liability including for any damages or injuries which may be sustained during or as a result of program participation.
Orange Community Education and Recreation does not provide insurance for participants. In the event of an emergency, Orange Community Education and Recreation will make a reasonable attempt to reach a parent/guardian at the phone numbers provided to us. In the event that attempts to reach a parent/guardian have been unsuccessful, registrants give consent for the administration of treatment deemed necessary by participant’s preferred physician or preferred dentist or by another licensed physician or the transfer of child to nearest appropriate hospital or emergency facility. This authorization does not cover major surgery unless the medical opinions of two licensed physicians or dentists, concurring in the necessity for surgery, are obtained prior to performance of surgery.
REFUND POLICYIf you change your mind about participating in a class or activity and need to cancel, please let us know at least one week before the class begins so that we can give your spot to another person who may be on a waitlist trying to join. Refunds will not be issued for any cancellation requests received less than one week before the start date.
If you wish to request a refund, please contact us by calling the front desk on (216) 831-8601 or send an email to
[email protected]. We aim to process refunds within 2-5 business days of receiving your request. Refunds are electronically credited to the credit card used for payment. Refunds for cash and check payments will be refunded in the form of a check and should be received 2-3 weeks after the refund is processed.
For summer camps, please check your summer calendar carefully when registering your child. If your schedule changes and your child will not be attending camp, the last day to request a refund or a transfer for all OCER camps is May 10, 2024. For events and special trips, the last day to request a refund is 30 days before your trip. Our vendors require a 30-day cancellation notice or we are charged. When this involves tickets to a show, the vendor releases any remaining tickets we had on hold and they are released to the public. Please check online or your brochure for the exact dates of your trip. The specific refund request date is listed in the trip’s activity description.
PARTICIPANT AND SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT
The Orange Community Education and Recreation Department (OCER) strives to create an atmosphere of respect and courtesy. Appropriate behavior and treatment of others is expected of all department employees, patrons, spectators, family members, parents and participants. Any conduct, behavior, or activity that endangers the welfare, safety, and/or comfort of others, including physical, mental, verbal or emotional abuse, will not be tolerated by anyone visiting a facility or participating in an activity sponsored by the department. Any individual behaving in such a manner may be removed from programs, activities, events and/or facilities at the department’s discretion.
Examples of such actions include, but are not limited to:
Endangering the health and safety of other persons, participants, patrons or staff.
Disrupting a program or creating a disturbance.
Continuous refusal to follow program and/or facility rules and guidelines.
Use of verbal harassment, profanity, vulgarity, obscenity, or racial slurs.
Threatening or intimidating actions towards others.
Fighting and/or physical confrontation with a department employee, patron, spectator or participant.
Blatant disrespect of staff and program or facility rules and guidelines.
Damage, vandalism, or theft of property, equipment or supplies.
Possession or being under the influence of illegal substances or medication, including the use of alcohol or smoking.
Inappropriate or offensive dress, including but not limited to, dress which is too revealing and clothing which displays obscene or offensive words or pictures.
Possession or use of a firearm, knife or other dangerous object.
Sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual behavior and actions.
Failure to cooperate and respond honestly to inquiries or requests for assistance in identifying individuals who may be involved in incidents.
Individuals who do not follow the Code of Conduct may be subject to suspension for one day, one week, or longer depending on the severity and impact of the event. It is the goal of OCER to limit the use of suspension, expulsion and other exclusionary measures.
The Director of Community Education & Recreation will determine disciplinary action and notify parents/guardians if individuals involved are under age 18. Restitution may be required in incidents involving theft or damage of property, facilities or equipment. Fees will not be refunded for any person removed from a program, league or facility due to violation of the Code of Conduct.
