Designed for children to explore new areas of interest, our new discovery camps offer opportunities for kids to try something new, explore new ideas and dream big. Campers should bring their own bagged lunch and beverage. No refrigeration is available.

Snapology Creator’s Camp
Completing grades K - 5 
Have you always loved playing with LEGO® bricks and want to do more with them? At Snapology Creator’s Camp boys and girls will have a blast building memories with LEGO® bricks all week long! Your camper will learn the fundamentals of robotic design and will create animal-inspired robotic models among peers in a supportive and comfortable environment. Together, we will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming. There will also be daily themed lessons and free-building to promote creativity!

Full Meal Deal Camp
Completing grades K - 5 
Become a chef for a week! This camp is perfect for kids who want to be a pro by learning kitchen safety, measuring tips, chopping skills, and mixing do’s and don’ts! Together we will cook and bake dishes all will enjoy! We will work individually and in small groups and play food related games. Every day we will focus on a different meal; Monday will be breakfasts, Tuesday snacks, Wednesday lunches, Thursday dinners, and Friday desserts. By the end of the week, your child will be able to cook the full meal deal for family and friends!

Checkmate! Chess Camp
Completing grades K - 5 
Did you know that the longest chess game theoretically possible can be played in 5,949 moves? Come explore all 5,949 moves with us this summer while learning and mastering the exciting game of chess! Experienced staff of Progress with Chess will assist players of all levels to ensure children receive plenty of individual attention. While working in small groups, players will be divided by age and skill levels to maximize abilities and comprehension. Activities will include a healthy mixture of interactive lessons and supervised open play.

Lion’s Den Etiquette Camp
Completing grades 1 - 5 
Step up the game… the social skills game, the ME game! Learning proper manners are more important than ever! When learned, they will help your children be more successful socially and later professionally. This week long etiquette camp will rock the experiences of leadership, character building, and hands on learning to encourage you to always be kind and well mannered. The camp will also include manners related crafts to take home that focus on making a great and lasting first impression, proper manners while outside the home, understanding the importance of digital diplomacy, behavior and expectations while at parties or on playdates, and table manners! The biggest take away from this camp is for children to learn to be comfortable within themselves and also while around others. No Camp July 3.

GameBOT Camp: JungleBOT Edition
Completing grades 2 - 5 
Wild about LEGO® bricks? Work with a partner to build animatronic creatures and bring Rudyard Kipling’s classic stories from The Jungle Book to life with LEGO® WeDo® robotics! Monkey around with video game coding using Scratch. At the end of the camp, we’ll keep the robots, but you keep your game!

Karate for Kids Camp
Completing grades K - 5 
Confident. Focused. Self-Controlled. Dedicated. Respectful. Fit. What parents wouldn’t be happy to hear those words used to describe their child? You could be hearing those words about your own after instruction from none other than ATA Cleveland Martial Arts. The foundation of the Karate for Kids curriculum is the education and development of life-skills such as positive mental attitude, high goal setting, perseverance, self-control and confidence.

Fencing Camp
Completing grades 2 - 5 
Did you know that the art of swordsmanship has been practiced for centuries? First, it was to train for deadly combat - the duel. Now it is fun, exhilarating, and most importantly, safe for boys and girls. Learn a new sport or expand upon your current fencing skills. No experience is necessary and all fencing equipment is provided. Fencing is harder than you think, but with practice, you can do it!

Master Crafters Camp
Completing grades K - 5 
Back by popular demand, MASTER CRAFTERS CAMP! It is true that craft activities might get a little messy, but don’t worry! Arts and crafts are brilliant for developing minds and bodies. What’s a few paint stains compared to expressing your creativity! Join our OCER staff as campers do everything from cooking, utilizing nature, and creating handmade masterpieces of all kinds! A special field trip on Wednesday and Thursday to the Orange Senior Center will allow campers to tie and fold tee-shirts, then watch the “magic” as they go from green to indigo blue. We will also use polymer clay to create wind chimes, small animals and other great projects! Campers will have the opportunity to display all of their masterpieces on Friday to invited friends and family at the Pepper Pike Learning Center from 11am-12pm.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR/REMEMBER
Campers should bring a bagged lunch and beverage to camp each day. A water bottle with your child's name on it is also suggested. Campers should wear loose, comfortable clothing and athletic shoes (no sandals) each day and remember to apply sunscreen 30 minutes before arriving at camp. Sunscreen will be reapplied as needed by staff and campers must provide their own individual sunscreen bottle.
