Stagecrafters Theatre Camps

Stagecrafters Youth Theatre is a dramatic arts program which seeks to help each student realize a positive self-image through the practice and technique of theatre. The program seeks to provide a family atmosphere, fostering growth and confidence within each individual, through their philosophy of process over product. Stagecrafters prides itself on nurturing students' independence while maintaining the importance of teamwork. From afterschool and Saturday classes to Private Coaching for Acting and Voice, Stagecrafters offers a wide variety of classes and activities for students of all ages from preschool on up. We stage eight mainstage productions each year!
 
The Stagecrafters Summer Experience features acting, dance, technical theatre, costume design and other opportunities focused on having fun, gaining new experiencing and theatre!

Register before April 15 and save $25 on all one-week camps, unless otherwise noted. Three week camps are available at a $75 discount before April 15.
 
STUDIO A - HAPPY CAMPERS                                         Completing grades K-2 
A happy camper is what you’ll be in our theatre family. This intro to theatre will help develop and expand your love for theatre. Campers will discover their true potential through age-appropriate acting, dance, arts and crafts, and music classes. Campers will use their newfound abilities on stage with a guaranteed speaking role in a musical workshop production! Campers can also look forward to daily swims, guest artists, Funky Fridays, Game Days, and a grand finale field trip. Optional activities such as pizza parties and late night activities are offered as well. The Second Session of camp is a whole new experience and is NOT a repeat of First Session. Shows in consideration are Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Starmites, Frog and Toad, and Little Red Riding Hood.  Kindergartners must have previous theatre experience, strong reading skills, and take direction well. STUDIO B - SHINING STARS                                       Completing grades 3-5 
To B or not to B…..a Shining Star. At Stagecrafters Camp everyone has an opportunity to shine. If your student enjoys singing, acting, dancing, building sets and creating memories, then they will want to spend the summer at Stagecrafters Theatre Camp! Students are guaranteed a speaking role in a musical workshop production performed for family and friends. Students can also look forward to daily swims, guest artists, Funky Fridays, Game Days, and a grand finale field trip. Optional activities such as pizza parties and late night activities are offered as well. The Second Session of camp is a whole new experience and is NOT a repeat of First Session. Shows in consideration are Bugsy Malone and Guys and Dolls

STUDIO T - TRIPLE THREAT TEENS                          Completing grades 6-8 
T is for training for the stage! This intensive musical theatre program is designed exclusively for motivated teens seeking professional theatre training. Focused young artists are encouraged to step into the spotlight and emerge into master classes for singing, dancing and acting. Committed to all levels of talent and experience, our theatre professionals will encourage students to take creative risks, embrace new skills, and learn to tell the story in a collaborative, supportive environment. Students who feel strong in one discipline but who may wish to enhance or gain confidence in another will particularly benefit from this program. Students will have the opportunity to swim and participate in Studio A & B optional camp activities. A final workshop production will be presented for family and friends. The Second Session of camp is a whole new experience and is NOT a repeat of First Session. Shows in consideration are Singin’ in the Rain, Fame, and Chicago

MASTER CLASS                                  Completing grades 5 - 8 
Learn the art of comedy or dance! Maybe you have a knack for making people laugh? Show off your skills in this camp where you’ll work with friends on the most exciting, laugh-out-loud action in theater improv! And of course, everybody loves a good jazz square! This dance camp will teach you the main steps you need to know as a dancer in theater.

LULLABY OF BROADWAY: SLEEP-AWAY CAMP          Completing grades 5 – 8 
Rehearse, practice and play all day, then spend an entire week with your theatre friends participating in a variety of workshops and fun filled activities such as crafts, movies, swimming, and more at night! Participants must be enrolled in Stagecrafters Day Camp. The Lullaby experience includes sleeping accommodations at Ursuline College plus all meals and transportation to and from the Orange Schools campus. This resident camp is not product oriented, just fun, fun, fun with your theatre friends!

STAGECRAFTERS SUMMER STOCK                Completing grade 9 – college 
Summer Stock is a program in which a summer stock production is put on completely by students. Summer Stock is an innovative experience that allows students to collaborate and create theatre together under the supervision of professional staff. Students interested in participating on stage or off are encouraged to contact the Stagecrafters office at (216) 831-8601 ext. 5102 and get involved. Performances are scheduled for August 9 & 10. Please review required fees prior to auditioning. Shows in consideration are Blood, Bloody Andrew Jackson, Bat Boy, Kiss Me, Kate, and Mary Poppins. Auditions will take place in June. Fee includes costume and ad fees.

BROADWAY BUDDIES: STAGECRAFTERS ADAPTIVE MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP   Ages 13-29 
Students with special needs work alongside theatre professionals, licensed staff and experienced volunteers in this award winning camp. Each performer is paired with a buddy who assists in all day activities such as acting, dance, voice, arts and crafts, and daily swims. Students will present a free workshop production during each session for family and friends. Choreography adapted to individual needs. All abilities welcome! Everyone has an opportunity to shine.

BROADWAY BUDDIES PRESENTS: DREAM TEAM! Ages 13-29 
Join us for a one week slumber party for campers enrolled in Broadway Buddies Day Camp. You’ll spend an entire week with your theatre friends participating in a variety of organized games, crafts, movies, and more. Participants must be enrolled in Stagecrafters Broadway Buddies Day Camp in order to be eligible. This Super Star experience is held at Ursuline College and immediately follows Broadway Buddies Day Camp at the Orange High School. Accommodations, all meals and transportation to and from the Orange Schools campus is provided. Two campers and two counselors share their very own quad and each quad is complete with four separate bedrooms, kitchenette, lounge area, restroom and air conditioning! We have experienced staff, volunteers and an evening nurse on-call for this camp. For complete details and list of requirements, please call (216) 831-8601 ext. 5102. *Limit 16 campers

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic students to fill the roll of one on one Buddies for Stagecrafters Adaptive Musical Theatre Program.  Summer Dates include Monday, June 10 - Friday, June 14, 8:30am-3:00pm, and Monday, July 29 - Friday, August 2, 8:30 am- 3:00pm.  Earn volunteer hours and help us create some theatre magic!
