Stagecrafters Theatre Camps

Stagecrafters Youth Theatre is a dramatic arts program which seeks to help each student realize a positive self-image through the practice and technique of theatre. The program seeks to provide a family atmosphere, fostering growth and confidence within each individual, through their philosophy of process over product. Stagecrafters prides itself on nurturing students' independence while maintaining the importance of teamwork. From afterschool and Saturday classes to Private Coaching for Acting and Voice, Stagecrafters offers a wide variety of classes and activities for students of all ages from preschool on up. We stage eight mainstage productions each year!
 
The Stagecrafters Summer Experience features acting, dance, technical theatre, costume design and other opportunities focused on having fun, gaining new experiencing and theatre!

Register before April 15 and save $25 on all one-week camps, unless otherwise noted. Three week camps are available at a $75 discount before April 15.

Studio A - Happy Campers 
Completing grades K-2
A happy camper is what you’ll be in this fun-filled, creative arts camp. Develop and expand your love for theatre as you discover your true potential through age-appropriate acting, dance, voice and tech classes. Campers use their newfound abilities on stage with a guaranteed speaking role in a musical workshop production. Campers can also look forward to daily swims, surprise guest artists, Funky Friday Game Days and lots more! The second session of camp is a whole new experience and is NOT a repeat of first session. 
PLEASE NOTE: For the best possible experience, current Kindergarten students must have previous theatre experience, strong reading skills, and take direction well. Please contact Wendy Scott-Koeth at (216) 831-8601 ext. 5102 prior to registration for approval. Shows in consideration are We Are Monsters and Starmites.

Studio B - Shining Stars 
Completing grades 3-5
At Studio B, everyone has an opportunity to shine. If your student enjoys singing, acting, dancing, designing and creating new memories…. then look no further! This summer camp explores everything a theatre kid loves to do and then some! Students are guaranteed a speaking role in a musical workshop production performed for family and friends. Students can also look forward to daily swims, guest artists, and Funky Friday Game Days. The second session of camp is a whole new experience and is NOT a repeat of first session. Shows in consideration are Camp Rock, High School Musical and The Most Epic Birthday Party Ever!

Studio T - Triple Threat Teen 
Completing grades 6-8
This intensive musical theatre program is designed exclusively for motivated teens seeking professional theatre training. Focused young artists are encouraged to step into the spotlight and emerge into hands on master classes for singing, acting, dancing building, and costuming. Committed to all levels of talent and experience, our theatre professionals will encourage students to take creative risks, embrace new skills, and learn to tell the story in a collaborative, supportive environment. Students who feel strong in one discipline but who may wish to enhance or gain confidence in another will particularly benefit from this program. A final workshop production will be presented for family and friends. The second session of camp is a whole new experience and is NOT a repeat of first session. Shows in consideration Addams Family, the Sound of Music, and the Mystery of Edwin Drood.

Lullaby Lock-IN Theatre Intensive 
Completing grades 10 - 12 
What is a Lullaby Lock-In? It’s the time of your life for an entire weekend! Spend 48 hours with professionals who will cast you, direct you, and guide you in producing a mystery musical. Budding actors will discover the title of the show the first evening that they arrive, and put together a stellar show to perform for family and friends the last day of their lock-in. Staff and actors will stay in air-conditioned, Master quads on the Ursuline campus.

Lullaby Of Broadway: Sleep-away Camp
Completing grades 5 - 8 
Spend an entire week with your theatre friends exploring a variety of theatre workshops and fun filled activities to promote team building and creativity. The Lullaby experience includes sleeping accommodations, all meals and transportation to and from the Orange Schools campus. This resident camp is not product oriented, just fun, fun, fun with your theatre friends! Lullaby of Broadway is located at Ursuline College and immediately follows the camp day at the Orange High School. Transportation to and from the Orange Schools campus is provided. Participants must be enrolled in Stagecrafters Day Camp.

Stagecrafters Summer Stock
Completing grades 8 - college 
Summer Stock is an innovative experience that allows serious theatre students to work with seasoned staff and create a professional performance in less than two weeks. Students interested in participating on stage or off are encouraged to contact the Stagecrafters office at (216) 831-8601 ext. 5102. Performances are scheduled for August 7 & 8. Please review required fees prior to auditioning. Shows in consideration are Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson, Bat Boy, Kiss Me, Kate, and Mary Poppins. Auditions will occur in June 2020.

Adaptive Theatre Camps

Broadway Buddies: Boot Camp Adaptive Performing Arts Workshop Students Ages 18-29 
Immerse yourself into acting, dancing, and singing workshops designed to explore and provide more experience for students who are passionate about performing. Guided by theatre professionals and assisted by paraprofessionals, every budding artist will be inspired. Students with serious intent recommended.

Broadway Buddies: Adaptive Musical Theatre
Students Ages 13-29
Students with special needs work alongside theatre professionals, licensed staff and experienced volunteers to create a wonderful theatre performance. Each performer is paired with a buddy who assists all day in activities such as acting, dance, voice, arts and crafts, and daily swims. Choreography is adapted to individual needs. All abilities welcome! Everyone has an opportunity to shine.

Broadway Buddies: Dream Team! A One-Week Slumber Party 
One of our most popular programs, this sleep-away experience for students currently enrolled in Broadway Buddies Musical Theatre day camp includes extra time with theatre friends, the supervision of experienced staff, volunteers and nurse on call, and wonderful air-conditioned sleeping accommodations for two roommates and two counselors per room at Ursuline College. This Super Star begins right after Broadway Buddies day camp. All meals and transportation to and from Ursuline College is also included.
