Maria Hill, Early Childhood Coordinator
Maria Hill is in her third year with OCE&R. Before becoming the Preschool Coordinator, Maria taught in the Threes classroom. She's also taught kindergarten, middle school language arts, and as a special education assistant teacher. She is happy to have found a wonderful home here with OEC, and couldn't ask to work with a better group of teachers. Maria graduated from Saint Mary's College with a Bachelor of Arts, and National Louis University with a Master's in Elementary Education and Middle School Education. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Kevin, and one-year-old son Charlie.
Lisa Miller, Early Childhood Assistant
Lisa joined the preschool staff in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Cleveland State University. Lisa has over 25 years of experience working in the fields of public relations and sales. She takes pride in providing excellent customer service to OEC parents. Prior to OEC, she gained valuable customer service experience working as a Season Ticket Representative for the Cleveland Browns as well as an Owners Representative for a private luxury jet company. Lisa is a mother of two grown daughters and proud grandmother of three.
Dana Severin, Early Childhood Assistant
Dana joined the Orange Early Childhood team as an assistant but has been in the Orange School District since Kindergarten! Dana attended Miami University to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Case Western Reserve University to become a licensed Nurse Practitioner. Dana says that recreation and working with the kids has always been her passion, and she has worked part-time at OCE&R for the past 8 years.

Young Fives Classrooms
|Jackie Celinski, Room 41|
Jackie has happily been a part of Orange Early Childhood Preschool for 18 years. She has an Associates in Early Childhood with a Pre-K license. Jackie previously taught in the four-year old classroom and this will be her sixth year teaching in the Young Fives. Jackie says she truly enjoys seeing the students grow throughout the year and become ready for Kindergarten. Jackie live in Macedonia with her husband, Paul, who is a firefighter/paramedic for the Macedonia FD. They enjoy traveling and being with family, especially with their new baby granddaughter.
Nada Hashem, Room 41
Ms. Hashem has been teaching at Orange Early Childhood Preschool for 19 years, including three years teaching the older 4’s class, and sixteen years teaching the Young Fives class. She received her B.A. in Public Administration from the American University of Beirut, and her teaching license (PreK-3rd) and M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction from Cleveland State University. In her spare time, Nada enjoy spending time with family & friends, traveling, photography, bicycling and yoga. This summer, she took her first watercolor class and is very excited about her new hobby.
Betsy Ploenzke, Room 43
Betsy is starting her 14th year teaching at Orange Early Childhood Preschool. She graduated from Mount Union College with a Bachelor's Degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education and obtained her Master’s from Ashland University in Curriculum and Instruction. She grew up in Chagrin Falls and currently live in Mayfield Heights with her husband Shaun and cats Kip & Lindy. Betsy enjoys reading, shopping, going to the beach and cheering on our Cleveland sports teams! Her favorite part about work at OEC is her amazing co-workers, the families & kids. She truly enjoys watching the kids come to OEC as a toddler and leave as Kindergartners!
Pre-K / Fours Classrooms
Maria Falorio, Room 10
Maria is in her fourth year of teaching at Orange Early Childhood Preschool. She graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Intervention. When she’s not teaching, she loves to spend time with family and craft!
Julia Weaver, Room 10
Julia is in her second year teaching. She graduated from Kenyon College with degrees in English and Art History. She then received her Master’s in Early Childhood Education from John Carroll. In addition to teaching in schools, Julia also teach art classes for children at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Outside of teaching, Julia loves to travel with family and ride her horse!
Michelle Landon, Room 11
This is Michelle’s fifth year at Orange Early Childhood Preschool, but she has been teaching for a total of 7 years. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Baldwin-Wallace College in 2010 and she’s currently working on her Master's degree also at BWC. Michelle loves spending time outdoors, especially camping in the summertime with her husband and two children.
Diane Avery, Room 12
Diane received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Westminster College and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson State University. She taught at Head Start for nine years before joining the Orange Early Childhood Preschool family, where she has been teaching at the Pre-K level for 16 years. Diane loves to see how excited her students become when they learn new concepts and skills. She also enjoys traveling and learning about other countries and cultures.
Gayle Moore, Room 12
Gayle is in her 17th year teaching at Orange Early Childhood Preschool. She attended Tri-C for Early Childhood Education. Gayle is the proud mom of two sons, Pierre and Ryan, and the grandmother of two.
Three-Year Old Classrooms
Marie Embrescia Stephens, Room 6
Marie has been at Orange Early Childhood Preschool since September 1981. She has an Early Childhood degree from Lakeland College and has completed lots of coursework at Cleveland State University. Marie loves working with kids and loves working at Orange. She has been married to her husband Jeff for 31 year and they have two awesome daughters, Jessica and Jordan.
Sherry Becker, Room 7
Sherry graduated from Heidelberg University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked at Orange Early Childhood Preschool for 9 years, and has been teaching for over 15 years. Sherry loves watching the students grow throughout the year and the relationships she builds with families!
Nicole Kiper, Room 7
Nicole graduated from Ashland University in 2009 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Intervention. She has worked with preschool age children for the last 10 years, and is in her 6th year at Orange Early Childhood Preschool. She grew up in South Euclid and currently live in Willowick. In her free time, Nicole enjoy listening to music, walking through the Metroparks, and spending time with her family and husband Bryan. Nicole is looking forward to a fun filled year with your child as they explore and learn in new environments!
Kristine Chamberlin, Room 8
Kristine graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She has been teaching for seven years at Orange Early Childhood. Kristine says that teaching here has been so much fun because she gets to watch students grow, create friendships, and see families build a supportive community.
Reanna Egan, Room 8
Reanna Egan went to Ohio University and graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. She also has her K-12 Reading Endorsement. Reanna has been teaching for 5 years now and this is her second year at Orange Early Childhood Preschool. Some of her favorite things are Cleveland sports, being active outdoors, and her dogs, Cooper and Marley.
Martha Sperry, Room 9
Martha has been teaching for 1 year. She attended Notre Dame College in South Euclid and was a member of the women’s basketball team for 5 years. Upon graduation she was the Graduate Assistant Coach for 2 years. Martha has her undergraduate degrees in Early Childhood Education and Special Education (K-12) with a minor in Fine Arts. She also has a Master’s in Education with a Reading Endorsement. Martha’s hobbies include spending time with family and friends, going on vacations and road trips, reading, going to the movies, being active/playing in adult basketball leagues, and coaching travel basketball.
Jen Zimmerman, Room 9
Jennifer is in her 5th year teaching at Orange Early Childhood Preschool. She recently received her Master’s in Intervention from Notre Dame College. Jen loves relaxing at the beach, being with family and friends and supporting her Indians, Browns and Cavs!
Two-Year Old Classroom
|Caitrin Williams, Room 13|
Caitrin is in her 6th year of teaching at Orange Early Childhood Preschool. She is a graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a reading endorsement. She enjoys spending time with her husband, her 4-year old son, and her 1-year old daughter. Caitrin says she loves teaching in the two-year old classroom because there is so much growth happening at this age! She enjoys watching these kiddos go from toddlers to big boys and girls and it is exciting to be a part of their development.
